After Midnight

I have a feeling this is gonna be a long one... so hold on tight. i'll start by recapping the last week.... which has been largely consumed by school, work, WoW, and sleep. and pretty much no time for anything else. Including eating, blogging and a social life of any sort. but all of that changed on friday...

it started bright and early in the morning when i went to the optometrist immediately after dropping my sister off at school. apparently I'm slightly blinder than i used to be. so im getting some new glasses soon. which is awesome cuz I've just about had it with these. also, i was using the truck for the day because i had promised Lacey some boxes from work. so... i contacted her from the optometrist's parking lot and proceeded to go and pick her up. i drove her to my work and grabbed them aand took them to her house. we then set out for her school, Sonoma state. when we walked out of the admissions building, we realized that we had walked out into a different environment then we had left. the scattered cloudy somewhat sunny weather had turned into a very cloudy, very rainy environment. it was absolutely POURING. it was raining so hard that i couldn't see across the quad at the Schultz Library. Lacey decided we were going to make a run for it. everything was going fine until lacey ran across a puddle.... or more accurately, she ran into a pond. it was then that we figured it was pretty pointless to continue to run since she was knee deep in water an we were getting absolutely poured on. we met her BF, Bill, at a Chinese place in town and had lunch. after that i hung out a little longer with Lacey till she had to work. and i went to work.

the plan was to get out early so i can get into the city with enough time to take Nathan and Crystal to a performance thing she had to get to. i got out around 4:30ish and went home to shower and pack up for what i was hoping would be an overnighter in the city. unfortiunately with traffic and my lack of bridge toll which i realized just before getting to the bridge. so i had to backtrack to find a place i could get some dough (and caffeine... i was sooo tired) i ended up not getting to Daly City until 7. by that time they had decided we wouldn't have enough time to make it back into the city for the performance, instead we hung out at the shop. i spent that time mostly chatting with Ken and watching Jenna roll around in her walker. by around 9 they were closed up and i was gearing up to shoot. my first shot missed the target completely, but every shot thereafter with the exception of two at least hit the paper target, most hit the target itself. and one, im happy to say, hit the bullseye. so scratch 1-3 off my list. we finished up around 11ish.. i think. we decided to head to IHOP for some dinner and were there until Saturday. i went back to Nathan's with Nathan, Ken and Crystal and delved immediately into some WoW. which actually worked pretty well. though i was seriously dozing off by 3 or so, we finished up and i got to bed by about 4.

we woke up around 12 and i watched Nathan play some resident evil 4. not all that scary so much as it was frantic and urgent. alot different than how i remember the series. eventually we decided to get some some grub as soon as Ken showed up. so we grabbed some burger king and took some food to Nathan's hungry family at the shop. Nathan ended working for an hour or so, but i didn't mind, i got a chance to talk with Ken and Crystal and i took a nice pic of the view of Daly City from their front door (Crystal brought to my attempting 2 kids? dressed as the statue of liberty and uncle sam holding a sign directing people to... somewhere.... but you cant really make them out in the pic) so anyways.... we went back to Nathan's and watched an episode of Law & Order and once we were thoroughly depressed, we moved on to something a little more tongue in cheek. we watched Dr. Strangelove. now there was a hilarious movie. go see it. now.

after a while, despite the fact i should have been home hours before, i realized it was fast approaching the time at which Rene was getting off work. she called me during the movie and i told her i prolly couldn't make it to get together because as it was i was already in deep shit with my mom. but as i thought about it, i was prolly gonna get yelled at when i got home anyway, so i might as well get my money's worth. so i called her back after she was scheduled to get off work, to no avail. apparently she decided to help close up since we weren't gonna get together. anyways, at around 10:30 we finally decided we were hungry enough to go eat. so Nathan Crystal and I went to Denny's for another round of late night dinner. i got a call halfway through dinner.. it was Rene, i told her we were at Denny's and talked her through some road rage... and soon she was having french toast we were all laughing ourselves stupid. it was good times.

time to wrap this bitch up. so after "dinner" (which again went till past midnight) we went back to Nathan's AGAIN. Rene joined us and we hung out for a while she got a tour of his room (and its contents) and i packed up my stuff. i didn't get to spend a whole helluva lot of time with Rene and i didn't hang out with Arash at all (which i feel kind of guilty about... but he said he was sick Sunday) but i had such an awesome time. I'm so glad that i got to stay the night Friday and that i ended up staying late Sunday... i wouldn't have missed that for the world.

Wish You Were Here

i was talking to arash just now, and apparently ken hung out all day at his house. odd that he didnt say that when we spoke during the day.... i was actually in the area, but didnt have a chance to visit them. more on that later.....

so nathan's parents were outa town. as usual he was bugging me to come down. and it would have been the ideal time to do so.... what with no parents and all. some seriously good times could have been had. even if he did have to work saturday. there are worse things than hanging out in an archery shop with a bunch of friends..... for example:

the morning started off nicely, which is to say i slept through most of it. after that i did some cleaning and laundry. not so nice. my family and i then set out for the city. we visited my old neighbors (where i used to live... if you wanna see my old house, check out the moblog). we got there late (even given the one hour mexican time extension). we hung out for a while, introduced the dogs... sorta (moblog), catching up on random stuff, my grandma had joined us in SF so she was there too and did most of the talking. my brother and i watched what was on TV.. .which was an ESPN recap of the super bowl winning Baltimore Ravens post season. kinda interesting. then we left. went to south city for my cousin's (youngest brother of the one whos my age) birthday party. i believe he turned 13. he has 2 older brothers, 17 and 20 years old. anyways, upod arrival i was sent downstairs to hang out with the "young cool people" which was my little cousin, and kids around his age huddled around a TV playing X-Box. i didnt even get to play. i was by far the oldest. his 2 older brothers and their friends, along with aunts and uncles hung out upstairs in various rooms. nice. and to make matters worse, the downstairs room (the basement... see moblog) had terrible resception, so i hung out in the backyard (moblog again) where i could actually talk to people. i ate food there too. it was a bangin' party.

what an awesome day i had. so much potential. yet so much disapointment. not that i was expecting much from my cousins birthday party....

A Day In The Life

[00:08:23]
good morning, so begins my day of blogging. im gonna check in everytime something interesting happens, and then blog it all in 24 hours from now, midnight thursday morning. anyways, here i sit in my family room on the couch, in the dark, freezing my ass off. im on the phone with nathan, ken and lyla. i have no idea what they are talking about.... i have no idea why i am even on the phone.

[09:07:23]
welcome to art history 2.1 last class we discussed stonehenge and other rock structures..... pretty interesting stuff. must have been a bitch to build

[09:28:14]
now learning about the nasca lines in peru. incredible. they are drawings in the ground made by some sort of ancient civilization. these drawings are sometimes miles in diameter. they were "lost" for hundreds of years between the colapse of the civilization and the advent of flight. they were found by accident during some aerial photography being done for mapping. imagine their surprise when they find images of plants and animals miles across in the middle of the desert. crazy

[09:31:45]
on to egypt

[10:36:14]
we'll that was interesting. a crash course in ancient egyptian history and some art thrown in. and now to eat. what shall I have? ........ leftovers it is.

[11:16:03]
hmm... last nights dinner wasn't too bad.... except for that disgusting battleshit scene in harold and kumar that I sat through. otherwise... its a good movie

[15:56:46]
wow... totally forgot to blog art class. o well. it was a short class. we were still working on contour drawings, this time she had us draw the classmate who was next to us. the problem with that was that we were both moving, since we were drawing eachother, so we agreed to take shifts. and.... to be honest, sitting still is a lot harder than drawing someone.

[15:57:27]
now I'm at work. I was sent out to a vacant house to photograph it. both exterior and interior. so I drive about 15 miles here. and there's a guy with his truck in the driveway and he doing stuff in the front yard. so much for being vacant. goddamnit.

[16:11:07]
so I'm gonna wait for his ass to leave.

[18:28:57]
well... I called into work and as it turns out he was a contractor working on the house. so I just went in and took the pics I needed. there was a cat still living there... he looked pretty hungry

[18:33:16]
now I'm at school. 30 minutes early for my art history class. I just went home to get my notebook and borrow my brothers headphones.... so I'm sitting alone... as someone walks in.... in my classroom which I am all too familiar with. wow. another one. how many losers are in this class. I was here first. I win

[20:24:06]
this class sucks there is no order to this teachers ramblings. in my other art history class the teacher very carefully goes in chronological order. in this class she had a slide of Raphael's "School of Athens" next to a slide of a Japanese Wood Cut Print from the late 1800's. this after she began the class with Van Gogh's "Night Cafe." we've seen maybe 6 slides in the first hour and a half. in my other class I would have seen maybe 20. its cold outside.

[21:52:54]
finally done with that godforsaken class. I come home to find that my family went and finished all of dinner. no baked potato. to meat. no nothing. thanks. so guess what. leftovers for dinner too. *sigh* where do I go??

[22:32:21]
wow. ken just sent me a link to a VW commercial. it was..... so wrong. if anyone wants to see it, lemme know. but... wow. just wow.

[22:51:59]
just asked my mom if I can go down and stay the night in the city tomorow. no. I asked if I can go down saturday. no. whatever. I didn't expect to be able to go, but it was worth a shot.

[00:26:09]
half an hour late I tie up my day of blogging. this is my life. fear it. time to post.

Somewhere I Belong

UPDATED!!!

today was my cousin Angela's birthday party in SF. she is the youngest daughter of my dads oldest sister. she turned 22. i always liked her because she is alot like me. unlike the rest of my dad's family which can be loud and obnoxious. they all listen to hip hop and wear the latest urban styles. i decided to "represent" and so i wore my pink floyd t-shirt. one of my cousins was wearing a tupac shirt. the birthday girl... linkin park. heh... kinda half way between hip hop and rock. also, shes an artist. the living room is adorned with her artowork, mostly paintings, some of our grandpa who i think she was pretty close to. (she goes to the Art Institute.... sorry nathan) she also has one of the coolest doors.... its completely covered COMPLETELY COVERED with stuff. from bumper stickers to cd labels and covers to pictured to posters..... there isnt a spot of barewood anywhere to be seen. i dunno what the insdie of her room looks likee though, last time i saw it was covered in anime posters and stuff. but that was a while ago.

as for the party, it was the usual. watched football. stuffed my face. pretty much kept to myself and my sidekick. the last time i went to the part of a cousin on my dad's side was my cousin who is my age. he had a surprise 20th party. and never have a felt so out of place when around so much family. granted, i didnt know half the people who were there... but also, there were alot of people there who i didnt even know. it was pretty bad though, my brother and i pretty much stood outside talking amongst ourselves. i was longing for my sidekick which i had yet to take delivery one. it was not good times. today wasnt as bad. there was football to watch and i knew almost everyone there, and i socialize well with the adults. *shrugs*

while we were there my sister was reading one of the oh my goddess books she is borrowing... and my cousin Marcus (Angela's older brother) came in, took note of it and correctly guessed what she was reading without looking at the cover, he then proceeded to recomend to her another Anime graphic novel series called "Nausicaa" anyone know anything about it? my sis read a little, but went back to Oh My Goddess, my brother, however, read through alot of it. *shrugs* i dunno. the food was good. i actually had some cake, only because it had almost no icing, and what it had was frozen and was easily picked off. it was an ice cream cake. my head hurts....

[update]
my head hurt so much i forgot the second part of my post. anyways, what i was going to say was... last thursday was it? i think so.... i went down to SF to take my gandma home. and while in the area i decided to hang out a little bit with nathan and crystal and lyla. so we all went out to lunch, had luch, then went to the shop to hang out for a bit before i had to go so i could get back in time for work. i made it JUST in time... not that i can be late.. .but i have a time at which i am expected... got it? ok good. so yeah, we had a good time just having lunch and talking about random stuff.... it was awesome.

in a similar story... i stopped by nathans house on my way home last night to pick up something and drop a couple things off. crystal ken and jerm were there... they were watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force. if you dot know what it is, it would be too hard for me to explain.... sorry. anyways, its pretty damn funny and i saw one episode while i was there but i had to go. i wish i could have stayed loger.... but alas, i couldnt. i think i found it.

Third Degree

went to bed at about 2am this morning.. only to have to wake up at 7 am to take the truck in cuz my mom thought the transmission light came on. turns out it was the check engine light and it was caused by a loose gas cap. ugh. got up early for a gas cap. peachy.

then i took my sister to school, and by that time i was way too awake to go back to bed. plus my grandma was up. so anyways, i get home and whip out the sidekick... .and its frozeen in camera mode. and not responding to anything. tied the power button. nothing. tried hitting the hidden reset button. nothing. cant remove the battery... so i just let it sith there. with the backlight on and the button lights on..... and wait for the battery to die.

melissa was in the market for a digital camera and asked me if i would go with her to buy one. sure i had nothing better to do. we havent ung out since.... that night with the milkshakes. so sure. good times. we went to best buy, the camera i showed her last night was out of stck. and so was the other one she was interested in. so... we moved on to comp usa. they had a better selection there. including the one she wanted. so she got one, and so did her sister.

so we are pulling out of the shopping center onto santa rosa ave. and the lane merges right onto the avenue. we edge forawrd... and some ass behind us hits us. melissa wasnt happy. so we get out of her car... the other guy doesnt. he finaly gets out, and his car jumps forward abot 3 feet... i guess he forgot to put it into park. fucking moron. this was while melissa and her sister were inspecting the damage.. between the 2 cars. would have hit her had her sister not jumped and dumbass not stepped back onto his brake. so then we go through a 5 minute ordeal trying to get his fucking insurance. but he has none. and wouldnt you know it.... he didnt have his lisence either. ugh. so we took down his info from his ID card.... and took off. not really sure what to do from there. she wasnt in a good mood on the way home. i felt really bad. im sure some of you can relate.... her car doesnt even have its plates yet. it was the one she bought to buy the one that was totalled last year. ugh. fucking drivers. im sorry i ever doubted her road rage. she yelled at soi many drivers.... i told her to calm down. to be understanding. but fuck. people really dont know how to drive.

New Year's Day

so.. its 2005. not really all that special. so the earth has made it around the sun once again. 2005 cars and video games have been available for months. the rest of the world has finally caught up.

sure, its anew year, but i think whats really important is that the old year is over. i think everyone can agree that 2004 was generally not a good year. it certainly ended on a sour note. the scale of what happened in Asia is just mind boggling. the sheer loss of life is just so overwhelming. i cant even fathom how devastating it reall is, i can only imagine as i watch the numbers grow. howevet, there is one number that i am disapointed by. and thats the amount of money that the US is pledging for the relief effort. the first pledge was for 35 million dollars. thirty five. wow. much smaller than many other countries sending money. especially given our size and economic power. so small in fact, that even after increasing it ten-fold (to $350 million) it is still one of the smallest pledges per-capita. meanwhile we are spending somewhere in the neighborhood 80 BILLION dollars on the war in Iraq. cant spend money on saving lives, too busy taking them. *sigh* happy new year indeed.

ANYWAYS, as for my new year, it was spent doing nothing. just watching people all over the world have a blast. yep. good times. as for today, after a morning of mostly sleeping, i came into the city to hang out with everyone. went to natahan's sisters house for a little board game action. such simple fun. i had a great time. also, while i was there, we exchanged christmas gifts. i got natahan and crystal Gift Certificates for thinkgeek... since i really am not sure what size either of them are, or what tshirts they have. i dunno, im just not a very decisive person, anyway, at least they can get exactly what they want. i got ken a month of netflix for him to add onto his current subscription. they got me Half Life 2 and a Led Zep tshirt respectively. thanks guys, btw, i really appreciate the gifts. and heres to what will hopefully be a better year than the last. cheers.
