today was an interesting one. my grandma has been staying up here with us for the past few days now. she was set to be taken home today, but after some discussion it was decided that my aunt would come up and spend the day up here doing random crap, and then take her down later on. anyways, she also came uo for some info on computers, shes in the market for a laptop. so i did some research and found some prospective laptops for ther to look over and discussed with her the various options and capabilities that she may want.
afetr that debacle, we decided to take a nice trip up to sonoma and walk around the square. that was interesting, checked out some nice little shops and whatnot. we decided to drive back to town for some grub and decided on the mexican place by my house. as we get out of the van, a silver carrola S with tinted windows drives by... my first thought is that its my friend, great. for some weird reason my family starts actin weird around my friend. i would much rather they either act themselves (specificly my mom and her side) or act normal (my dad and his side) but they dont seem to. assuming that whoever that was just drove through i proceeded with the task at hand: getting a table for 7. to my great dismay, the silver carolla had mad e U-turn and was headed back.. great. turns out, it was my friend, and she said hi.. just as i reached the dorr to the restaurant, i turned and said hi back, as i herded my family through the door. i was suposed to get a table, but the greeting held me up.. i wasnt sure if i should srick around and chat or go and get a table. i chose the latter, but by the time i had made up my mind, my dad was a couple steps ahead of me and he put our name down and stuff. hoping to be able to turn around and maybe take anotherswing at a proper greeting, i was then directed to my table. not wanting to make a scene i did as i was told.
in retro spect.. i am such an ass. here my friend is driving around and she sees me and says hi. there i am at the door of a restaurant and i say hi and turn around and walk in never to be seen again. truth is, even after the inocent "hi" my family was just full of questions about the mystery voice from the silver car. GIVE IT A REST. are they that fascinated by the fact that another human being in this flourishing metropolis actually knows my name!?!?!?!? i guess despite popular belief, i DO have friends.. i half expected them to exchange money after that revelation, since im sure there was a running bet.
