Go With The Flow

coming to you live from someone elses WiFI.... thanks Paul whoever you are....

so anyways, where do i start? i know. friday night. i sat on my ass wandering the house with nothing to do. and i was rescued by one of my little angels. lacey randomly invited me out to get some pie. and so i went. and it was good. i had a strawberry cheesecake. it was at baker's square. and it was yummy. thank you thank you thank you lacey. you are the awesomest. that was pretty much it.... thats all for friday.

saturday is when the planned excitement took place. i planned to leave the house by 10 to be in SF by 11ish so i can make sure im at Metreon in time for the show..... oh, i forgot to mention:
~ sub plot~
wednesday night, i was up till about 230 AM playing WoW and when i finally went to bed i turned on my radio. it was set to Live 105 the SF alternative rock station. they had been giving away Queens of the Stone Aage tickets all week when they played their songs. the DJ reminded the listening audience of that fact ust as i turned it on. 2 songs later "Little Sister," the single off their new album "Lullabyes to Paralyze" was playing. i thought for a second, thought wtf, why not. pulled out grabbed my sidekick and tried to call. nothing. tried again, it was ringing. the DJ picks up (thats what i love about this station... its 230AM and not only is there a human being playing the music and on the air, but its the on air DJ who answers the phone!!) so anyways, i say hi, ask and guess what. im caller 10 and i suddenly have a show to go to on saturday. as a side note the DJ then proceeded to hang up on e nstead of putting me on hiold. so i waited for the song to end and called back, and he picked up again, apologized for the DC and he got my name down. it was pretty cool. anywaysm back to the main story

so yeah, we ended up keaving home at 11. got to SF around 12 ish and i got dropped off downtown a block or so away from Metreon, i made contact with ken, who i was taking along with me since he was the only one remotely familiar with QOTSA and who was available to go. so anyways, the show was awesome, it was in a tiny little theater that held maybe 70 or so people. i was about 20 feet from the band. the lead singer whos name i would look up if i had an internet connection, was either drunk or really good at acting such. despite that fact he still was able to play both a guitar and bass and sing the songs faiirly successfuly. after the show we met up with kens GF who was wandering around shopping and went to eat at a burger place nearbye. after that i went to my grandmas, picked up my sister and then headed to my aunts for my cousins for his confirmation where we watched stuff. from there i met up with lyla and arash at Denny's for a random milkshake. i took emily with me cuz i had to head back to my grmandmas. anyways, i got back to my grandmas at 130 and got lectured by both my mom and grandma for different reasons. here is my family in a nutshell: my grandma stayed up worried sick for my sister and i because of all the crazy people. my mom stayed up because she was up and was angry that i kept her up and lectured me on respecting her by coming hom earlier. my grandpa had gone to bed but woke up, and when he did, offered me his bed. yup. i was so confused.

sunday i slept in while my grandma and everyone else went to church. i imagine she lit 766135 candles in order to save my soul from the evils of milkshakes and random acts of kindness for my friends. *sigh* when they returned i proceeded to take the car and pick up nathystal (nathan and crystal) and took them downtown to the SFMOMA, where i had to go for school, we were there for a good 2 hours or so. after that it was off to Mel's Drive in for some more burger goodness. after that we drove back to nathans by way of the great highway along ocean beach. i think he took pics during the drive (crystal in the parking garage dowtown and my neck in the car... i think) when we got there we hung out a bit, lyla got there about when we did. and we just sat around a relaxed. watched some sealab and then i had to go i picked up my mom and sis and headed back home. i stayed up super late (like now....) playing WoW with ken and nathan. good times.

monday i was so exhausted i decided to rest through my philosophy class, especially since i hadnt done any hw. o well. i then stayed up even later monday night writing a last minute 5 page paper on art work that doesnt exist. i wrote about a missing egyptian sun temple that i discovered. im prolly gonna get a C at best. but w/e. i just need to pass.

Cut That City

so last week was spring break. did pretty much nothing. the end.

well... actually, on friday i got hit super hard with a cold and almost didnt go to work, except for the fact that it was Nicole's last day and i wanted to say goodbye. i gavce her a hug when i left... i hope thats all i gave her :-/when i got back home i went straight to bed and slept for a really long time.

saturday morning i spent restin since i was scheduled to make my weekly (or so) trip down to the city. actually, i hadnt gone down in a while and it was nate's birthday, so i figured i should make an appearance. his sister, lyla, made all the arangements for what we decided we would do for his birthday, which was similar to what we did for mine, which was dinner and a movie... only not in that order. this time we did the movie fist, it was Sin City. more on that later. then we went to Denny's for dinner (pretty much cuz it was the only place still open). after that we headed over to lyla's house for cake and board games. well... Epic Duels to be precise, which is a cool Star Wars Board/Card game. it sounds weird but its really fun and easy to pick up. after a few games of that, we went our seperate ways. Nathan, Crystal and I ended up crashing at Nathan's friend Daniel's house.

sunday was lunch, chinese food. good times. interesting food. interesting service. ithen we went to a mall where nathan looked for some stuff, but not before my nose inexplicably started bleeding. when we got back to the car, it started bleeding again, this time from the other side. then both nostrils were spewing blood. it was creepy. basically i stuffed my nose full of tissue and went to his house where i cleaned up a bit and replenish my nose plugs. ken joined us and we watched The Proffesional which nathan got for his birthday. it was a great flick. after that i went home. and thats pretty much my weekend.

as for Sin City..... HOLY SHIT. not only was that movie just plain good story wise, it was visually awesome. on several occasions could one have taken a freeze frame and the frame could very well have been taken right out of a comic book. the parts were perfectly executed by the cast, even Jessica Alba.... who was mroe than just nice to look at. if i had to compare it with other films, id say it was a cross between the Maltese Falcon, Sky Captain, and Kill Bill. and i'll tell you why. Maltese Falcon because it is obviously a Noir style film.... or more specifically a film based on a noir style comic..... which yields a noir style film. anyways, Sky Captain, because it successfully takes another medium (in this case a noir style black and white comic) and brings it beautifully to modern film. and Kill Bill because of the nonstop uncensored asskicking that occurs throughout the movie. that being said, there is nothing else like this movie. it is so unique and so perfectly executed, it was like i when i was little and would read a comic book and would imagine the comic play out in live action...... this was what i imagined. sorta. i ddint read Sin City when i was a kid. :-) if you havent seen it yet, go see it. if you have, go see it again.
